Segovia is the capital of the province that shares its name in the autonomous region of Castilla & León, and lies at the base of the ‘Sierra de Guadarrama’.
Because of its position along transhumance routes, Segovia became an important centre for wool and textile production throughout the 12th century.
The capital has three important monuments: the Roman Aqueduct, the Cathedral and the Fortress. The old city of Segovia and the Aqueduct have been declared World Heritage by UNESCO.
Segovia is undoubtedly a must-see for tourists, particularly those who love cultural tourism.
