NATURE: “RODILES BEACH”

One of the most important beaches in Asturias is found in the municipality of Villavicios: “Rodiles Beach”.
The beach lies next to the mouth of the Estuary of Villaviciosa (Partial Natural Reserve), along part of the Jurassic Coastline.
Rodiles is known for: its natural surroundings, its immense beach, the dunes and their vegetation, the “ocalita” (large eucalyptus plantation) where you can shelter from the sun and of course, water sports.
The main water sport exercised at this beach is surfing. Many surfers choose Rodiles to practice their sport because of (apart from other reasons) its perfect left-hand wave breaks, the second best in Europe.
