BEACHES: GUADAMÍA BEACH

As many of you will know, the east coast of Asturias is of unparallel beauty, which explains why this area is chosen as the setting for film shoots.

Thanks to film, we know of a lot of hidden corners along the coast of eastern Asturias, but there are still quite many that are not so well known. A clear example is Guadamía Beach, found in the municipality of Llanes.

The municipalities of Ribadesella and Llanes are divided along the coast by the River Guadamía, which gives its name to this lovely beach.

The access to Guadamía Beach is very good and can be reached by car – well not right up to the beach itself, you have to walk down some 50m to it. Frankly, it’s a beach that even if I had to walk several kilometres to get there, I would do so with pleasure. As always, there is a map at the end of the article where you’ll find this beach in Llanes.

Guadamía Beach is a real paradise. When the tide is out, you can stroll along the amazing sandy beach or simply sunbathe. When it’s high tide, it becomes a fabulous cove with fantastic views – just like the Caribbean.

I say that Guadamía Beach is just like the Caribbean because it is very calm and its waters are crystal clear.

But if you watch the video you can decide for yourself.

By-the-way, if you do decide to go and the sea is rough… don’t miss the spectacle of the Bufones de Pría (Pría Geysers), at some 300m.
