VILLAGES: CAMERO VIEJO

Cañón del Leza

In the heart of Camero Viejo, found in the wine region of Rioja, there are several charming villages to visit: Soto en Cameros, San Román de Cameros and Velilla.

These three villages are in the middle of the countryside, on the banks of the River Leza, and are in keeping with their environment.

It is the perfect place to do rural tourism, where you will have the possibility of walking in the countryside, do some hillwalking, learn about the history, culture or gastronomy of the place and much more.

They each have something different to offer that makes them special and very attractive but they do share a common trait: their friendly people, who will make you feel right at home and in any one of these villages you will be able to relax and really rest during your holiday.

Turismo Natural has been to visit this marvellous area of Rioja and although we will talk about Soto en Cameros, San Román de Cameros and Velilla in future posts, we would like to mention a place that we completely fell in love with: Cañón de Leza (Leza Canyon) which was declared a Biosphere Reserve in 2003 because of its colony of griffin vultures, which are an amazing privilege to see.
