ROUTE: “PHILIP II CHAIR”

Today, we shall travel to Madrid to take a walk which runs through wonderful countryside and is of historic interest. This route was one that Philip II of Spain took to see, from his chair, how the work on the Escorial was proceeding; hence the name “Philip II Chair Route”.

This route is perfect for expert and amateur ramblers, as it is very easy although there are parts that are harder because of the climb. For nature-lovers this is a must-do route which they will thoroughly enjoy.

The path runs through deciduous trees almost entirely, offering dreamy spots, a make-believe forest and awe-inspiring views – a scene perhaps from the ‘Lord of the Rings’!

Apart from these fantastic woods, spots and trees, you are likely to see a vast variety of animals, particularly birds.
