ROUTES: 3rd STAGE REGIONAL MIGRATION (LAS OMAÑAS – LAGO)

We continue with our “Regional Migration” adventure. In previous posts, I gave you the first two stages of this route:

2nd Stage.

As I mentioned, we were on a route that takes several days to do which is somewhat special in the company of a family of shepherds that are transporting over 1000 sheep on foot.

This stage is a half-day, and takes places along beautiful villages and mainly through the mountainside with its spectacular views to enjoy.

Of the three days that we have covered, this is the loveliest, although we still have the forth stage left to do, perhaps the hardest, but also the most spectacular.

The stage which you are going to follow goes from Las Omañas to Lago, where, by-the-way, the sheep are longing to reach.

After sleeping out in the open air, our body is numb, but the flock doesn’t care about that and as soon it was dawn, we set off again.

The pace we followed was very good, perhaps hard…but manageable. We didn’t think at all about how tired we were, as we were completely distracted by each beautiful marvel we found along our way and above all, we were in awe with the wonderful black and white sea that spread before us along the hillsides, often without being able to see where it ended.

I recommend everyone do this route – it certainly won’t be a let-down.
