ROUTES: “SHRINES ROUTE”

Today, we shall take you along the shrines route within the surroundings of the Monastery of Saint Toribio de Liébana (Potes), in the mountainside of La Viorna.
This route runs through pure countryside, between magical holm-oak forests and beautiful, dreamy spots.
You’ll have fabulous views of the National Park of the Picos de Europa as you walk along the Shrines Route.
The main characteristic of this route is the existence of a series of centuries-old shrines. Unfortunately, some of them have not survived the passage of time…but others have and some have been restored, which means we can still visit a selection of them as we pass along this route imbued in history.
