To all history, art and monument enthusiasts: if you happen upon or you are thinking about visiting the municipality of Villaviciosa (Asturias), you must visit the church of San Juan de Amandi in Amandi, only 3km from Villaviciosa.

In other posts I spoke about Villaviciosa (Asturias), a municipality which is home to a large number of Romanesque and pre-Romanesque monuments.
One of these monuments can be found in the capital of the municipality, in the crossroads that join Oviedo, Gijon, Cantabria and the street of García Caveda. This monument, the church of Santa María de la Oliva, dates from the 13th century and has a mixture of both Romanesque and Gothic styles.
