For those of you who enjoy fairs and festivities, you might like to visit the The Seville Fair which ends on the 25th of April.
The fair is inaugurated with the alumbrao (lighting) ceremony. The mayor of the city presses a button that gradually switches on a series of bulbs. This year, 370,000 bulbs were lit.
The Seville Fair is one of the best Spanish fairs; it has a long history and is of high cultural interest. Leer más »

CINEMA: TOM CRUISE AND CAMERON DIAZ IN SEVILLA

Sevilla is well known all over the world for many reasons, but now it has one more: cinema. For several days Sevilla will be the film set for “Knight & Day” , a romantic action comedy starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Díaz.
But this is not the first time that Sevilla is host to these kinds of events; in September 2000, Star Wars, Episode II, “Attack of the Clones” was filmed in the Plaza de España.
