Asturias hides an infinite number of new places for visitors, and all which are interesting for tourists to discover. For example, there is the Municipality of Cabranes, which is rich in nature, culture, arts and crafts, gastronomy…
The capital of Cabranes is Santa Eulalia (Santolaya), set in central-eastern Asturias, in the Cider Region, and shares its borders with the municipalities of: Piloña, Villaviciosa and Nava; the latter two also belong to the Cider Region.
This place has many virtues, but the most emblematic is its natural surroundings. Meadows, valleys and indigenous forests in particular, all which make up a beautiful natural environment that captivates the tourist with its spectacular views.
Cabranes is, almost in its entirety, countryside, which means you can enjoy many sign-posted routes that run through the municipality. From high points, you can see plenty of indigenous forests and mountains that make up this municipality and you can also enjoy amazing panoramic views of the Sierra del Sueve and of the Picos de Europa.

In the previous article I wrote about a route which runs through the beaches of Cuevas del Mar and San Antonio del Mar (St Anthony of the Sea), the latter being the subject of this article.
You cannot reach the San Antonio del Mar Beach by car, but you can by bicycle or on foot.
It is a beach of singular beauty; it is clean and peaceful, set in the middle of the countryside far from civilisation and noise. Leer más »

To all history, art and monument enthusiasts: if you happen upon or you are thinking about visiting the municipality of Villaviciosa (Asturias), you must visit the church of San Juan de Amandi in Amandi, only 3km from Villaviciosa.
San Juan de Amandi was declared a National Monument in 1931 and it is a late-Romanesque church; it is one of the most important buildings from the Asturian Romanesque period and it stands out from other monuments in rural areas because of its shapes, volume and above all because of its large number of sculptures. It is thought to date from the first third of the 13th century, when the church of Santa María de Valdediós was founded. Leer más »

In East Asturias, we can find a well-known village: Arriondas, the capital of the municipality of Parres.
It is well-known all over the world because this capital hosts two international sporting events: the Descenso Internacional del Sella, (the International Descent of the River Sella), founded by Don Dionisio de la Huerta; and the Subida Internacional el Fito (International Ascent to El Fito).
It also has breathtaking scenery; Arriondas is set in the middle of the countryside, surrounded by mountains like the Sierra del Sueve or Pico Moro and it has fantastic views of the Picos de Europa.
